The BOB Sport Utility stroller is a blessing for active parents. Ultimately a jogging stroller, it is more akin to a mountain bike than a road bike, and the key to its performance is in the suspension and tires. The advanced three-inch suspension utilizes shock absorbers (coil springs with an elastomer core) to provide a gentle ride and has two positions to accommodate bigger and smaller children. The fixed front wheel and 16-inch knobbies make it perfect for both on- and off-road use--minor edges, bumps, rocks, and terrain go unnoticed. The adjustable tracking knob makes steering a breeze and keeps the stroller centered.

Weighing a mere 24 pounds, the frame is made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy that is lightweight and durable. The padded, stain-resistant seat is soft and cushy, reclines up to 70 degrees from vertical, and has the standard five-point harness to provide maximum stability and comfort. The full sun canopy provides ample shade and protection from the elements for your little passenger, and a front wheel fender shields spray and protects their toes. The canopy window allows you to keep an eye on baby as well. The wheel rims are constructed of high-impact composite polymer, and the hubs feature a quick release axle as well as cartridge bearings. The caliper handbrake slows the stroller with ease, while the foot-activated "parking brake" is simple and handy. Storage is not a problem with twin interior seat pockets, a large below-seat storage basket, and a deep seatback pocket. The two-step fold can be done in one motion, and the lightweight frame makes it portable and stowable. Removing the wheels decreases the height and length when storing in tight spaces. The handlebar height is 41 inches, and the wheel base is 29 inches.

The stroller is able to go anywhere, and the sleek styling and smooth ride give it a luxury feel. But, it’s the performance that will win people over. BOB recommends that children be at least eight weeks old before riding in the stroller and at least eight months old before jogging or off-road use. If not, it might not stay extended when you try to push your child in front of you, though you would still be able to pull them. If flying, make sure that your car seat is FAA approved before traveling. The Traveling Toddler strap is made from heavyweight polypropylene webbing that will withstand 900 lbs of force. When not in use it easily slips in the pocket of your carry-on. As with any other wheeled child carrier, do not use the Traveling Toddler on stairs or escalators.
